Latest puppy update

Well, it's been a rough last couple days. Duchess and one of her puppies died Saturday night/early Sunday morning. We noticed her not feeling well late that night, and by 1am Sunday Keith rushed her to the vet. The vet thought originally that she was suffering from bloat (a big dog problem), but now they pretty sure it was internal bleeding. We miss her so much-she was such a good dog and a great Mama.

We've been hand feeding the puppies since Saturday. I think they're going to make it! Some of them eat better than the others, you can definitely tell which ones they are by their big, fat roly poly tummies!!!

Batman has been missing Duchess a lot. He hasn't been as playful and he's a little quieter. The good thing is that he seems to care about the puppies-he is ALWAYS checking up on them. Especially when they whine.
The best part of this whole thing is that we have had so many friends come over to help. It's a hard job trying to feed seven puppies, and I don't know what we'd do without all the help from our good friends.
